If there’s one thing I’ve learned as a writer, it’s that all the supposedly true writing axioms like “show don’t tell” – and nearly all other official writing “advice” people like to spew on each other (see also: “write what you know,” etc.) is basically bunk. You can and should write how you want, how you’re moved to. If that’s by showing, fine. If that’s by telling, also fine. The secret “they” don’t want you to know is that *everything works* if you make it work.
