Entity: GAFA / GAFAM / BATX / NATU

This is basically a pre-figuration of the Four Providers, if you ask me. French wikipedia web geants page:

“GAFA ou GAFAM, acronyme constitué des géants les plus connus (Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft) ; ou encore chinois et surnommés BATX pour Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent et Xiaomi ; ou bien les Natu (Netflix, Airbnb, Tesla, Uber).”

In the coming days…

They made the announcement last night, that Elon Musk’s ‘Neural Lace’ (named after Ada Lovelace), would be hardwired into Puerto Rico’s rebuilding efforts, and Northern California’s aussi. The charger packs and everything — they were planning to fire blue and violet hued images of his face over the island, followed by the Lady. And peace and paper towels would rain down on the people the next day, and their wallets would be charged appropriate microtransactional forward fees…

The drones were out that very second, assessing the damage, surveying their maps, marking and re-measuring. You’ve seen the footage.

Them with their lettuce cannons, raining part-time easy jobs down on retirees in rural areas in regional Amazonal transfer and growth sites. We would all be interlinked. The global granny state. We could all sit home and talk to each other on the internet.

But even that was fading away…

Pictures I took of the unboxing of my Jensen Cassette Recorder, purchased from Amazon in Canada for $32.99 CAD.

I would characterize the quality as “cheap” to the touch. An old cassette I bought worked in it, played through the speaker but sounded “weird and slow and bad”, so I “took it out” so as “not to ruin it.”

Cassette recorder functionality so far seems pretty serviceable. Built in mic, no line input. Headphone out, which I plan to connect to my car as an audio source. Hopefully it will not eat all the tapes we’ve been buying at the flea market.

I honestly haven’t driven my car for any distance since buying it though, so I have yet to test it out.

Amazon order

  • Practice chanter
  • CR2 batteries for laser pointer
  • Hand-held cassette recorder
  • Deep cycle solar battery

Soomz webcam cover review

I recently purchased from Amazon.ca, a pack of 3 web cam covers made by Soomz, a Swiss company.

The price I thought, $15 for 3, was a bit high but the product fits on both a Macbook Pro and Air, and seems to “work fine.”

I’m pretty sure, and read as much, that these won’t work that well on a mobile phone or other device which has more in-and-out-of-pocket type action. They are attached by adhesive, so that would probably wear out. But for laptop use they seem great.

I had been covering my webcam for years with black electrical tape, but that is less than ideal if you’re regularly engaging in video conferencing, and having to remove and reapply the tape with any regularity. This is nice because it operates by a simple slider mechanism, and I like the peace of mind it offers by being able to instantly visually verify that your camera is closed.

Amazon Prime Minister

If there’s an Amazon Prime, is there an Amazon Prime Minister?
